The beach volleyball highlight of Bulgaria - CEV Challenger presented by M-Tel

In the period 23rd – 26th July on the South Beach of Varna top ranked beach volleyball players from all over the world and the best Bulgarian beach volleyball athletes competed for the CEV Challenger presented by M-Tel trophy.  The tournament was part of the beach volleyball chain M-Tel Beach Masters and is one of the leading events on this years CEV calendar (Confédération Européenne de Volleyball).

Total of 16 male teams took part in the main draw. Prize money in value of 15 000 EUR attracted beach volleyball players, who has competed in the FIVB Swatch World Tour. The CEV Challenger presented by M-Tel was launched by the official press conference.  42 national media representatives from TV and print media were informed by Klaus Lukas, Promotor, Oana Sarb, CEV Technical Supervisor, Tosho Stoyanov, Tournament Director and Alexander Gagov, Marketing Director of Mobiltel (M-Tel) about the general organisation and various back ground details of the tournament.

The duo from Germany Köhler – Rohde played at the final against the team from Brazil De Paula – Fernando. The Germans had moved from the qualification up to the Main Draw and won the tournament with result (2:1). The Bulgarian team Milen Stoyanov – Boris Yankov after amazing three - sets game qualified at the forth place.

For hosting the CEV Challenger presented by M-Tel the Promotor WWP Weirather-Wenzel and Partner secured three beach volleyball courts, tribunes with capacity of 1 500 sits and additional building equipment with an area of 9 000  ì².  The sportive competition was on a very high level and Bulgaria was very excited to host such a prestigious event! All in all WWP - the promoter was very satisfied with the success of the tournament and would like to express their special thanks to all parties involved and specifically to the CEV for supporting the CEV Challenger presented by M-Tel.
