The best Bulgarian beach volleyball team Neven Neshev – Nikolay Kolev has met with success the worldwide most prestigious beach volleyball tournaments Swatch FIVB World Tour 2009.
The Bulgarians won the qualifying matches against the team from The Netherlands Spijkers - van de Sande and the Englander Grotowski – Weaver to advance to the Main Draw of The Hague Open Beach Volleyball 2009. At the first round they didn’t have the luck to outweigh Herrera-Gavira from Spain, but right after that they registered their first win against the Austrian duo Hupfer-Schroffenegger with result 2:0 (19;21).
Total of 32 teams from 22 countries will compete for the title of The Hague Open Beach Volleyball 2009 in the period 25 – 30 August in The Netherlands. This US$380,000 tournament is the 11th of 12 double gender events to be staged on the 2009 SWATCH FIVB World Tour.
