Varna, Bulgaria, July 31, 2011. Teams from Germany and Czech Republic are the champions of 2011 CEV Beach Volleyball Challenger presented by M-Tel.
In "blitzkrieg" style Thomas Kaczmarek and Alexander Walkenhorst (GER) smashed 2:0 (9,14) Francisco Marcos/Christian Garcia (ESP) in only 33 minutes in the men final. The Germans dominated entirely over their rivals, who looked physically and mentally exhausted after the match against Huber/Seidl (AUT). In the semis Marcos and Garcia saved a match-ball before to turn the score and win 2:1 (-20,23,14) in a game that lasted almost one hour.
"We are very happy with this success. It was a good tournament with strong teams. The Spaniards were very tired and that helped us to win the title easily", said Walkenhorst after the prize giving ceremony.

The women final was a short one also. Sona Novakova and Tereza Tobiasova beat 2:0 Stefanie Hüttermann/Anni Schumacher (GER) in 29 minutes. This was their second emphatic win today after the Czech girls defeated 2:0 (16, 17) the top seeded Graessli/Goricanec (SUI) in the semi-finals.

The pair from Switzerland overcame 2:1 (-16, 13, 9) Bieneck/Großner (GER) and took the 3-rd place. Huber and Seidl also won bronze - in the men competition. The Austrian pair beat 2:0 (15,14) Varenhorst/Stiekema (NED).
Despite the absence of Bulgarian teams in the last day games, there was big crowd on the beach volleyball stadium on the South beach. Мore than 1200 enthusiastic fans supported the players and made a big party on the stands in a glorious weather in the sea capital of Bulgaria.

Varna is impatiently waiting for the next year tournament to welcome all players, fans and officials again.
